Discover Horsemanship Philosophy & Methodology in the Round Pen
This foundation program of Russ Krachun Kozak Horsemanship begins in the round pen. A revolutionary step by step program developing trust, confidence, two way communication, and mutual understanding without using whips, sticks or aggressive behaviour. Learn the difference of a human to horse join up rather than the traditional horse to human join up. Understand how working in the round pen can solve issues such as speed control, trailer loading, and lunging, guiding, controlling fear and how you can transfer this education to the saddle.
1:00 – 1:55 PM, Ag Star Arena
Physiology Methodology to Develop Supple Neck & Poll of the Horse
An education on how to develop a supple neck and poll of your horse using physiology methods using proper timing, repetition and methods to build muscle memory of the horses’ neck that will enable willing responses and willing attitudes. Step by step exercises are demonstrated using proper timing, repetition, and relaxation and are first introduced to the horse from the ground and then transferred to the horse under saddle. Increased timing and repetition will build muscle memory without using aggressive tools and methods. The result is a willing and responsive horse that is soft and supple in the neck and poll. Understanding physiology will help you to build your horse to become an athlete with a solid mind and supple body.
April 29th 9:00 – 9:55 AM, Coliseum
Innovative Guiding Methodology
Russ will share with you his innovative foundation guiding methodology exercises that he uses to direct and guide his horses through the walk, trot and lope. Ten innovative exercises are explained and demonstrated in detail using proper timing, repetition and relaxation in order to reach specific goals in each exercise. His methodology ensures the rider understands the limits to the horses mind, and builds improved physical abilities of the horse without stress to muscles, joints and other body parts.
12:00 – 12:55 PM, Horse Barn Ring
Discover Horsemanship Philosophy & Methodology in the Round Pen
Interactive Seminar & Discussion
Join Russ in an interactive seminar and discussion of his philosophy & his methodology of working in the round pen. Russ will share many of his life experiences and how his professional sport of sabre fencing has contributed to the development of his Kozak Horsemanship. He will explain his steps in the round pen and how they relate and connect to one another and how you may use these steps to solve or prevent many problems that we as humans cause to the horse as well as how you can transfer the lessons learned into the saddle. You will learn how Discover Horsemanship Philosophy & Methodology in the Round Pen is the key to opening the door to achieving TRUE HORSEMANSHIP and the development of two-way communications between you and your horse.
5:00 – 5:55 PM, Ag Star Arena
Innovative Methodology to Develop Shoulder Control
Russ will demonstrate his step by step methods to develop shoulder control. Exercises are first explained to the horse on the ground with periods of proper timing, repetition and relaxation. By increasing the timing and repetition the muscle memory is developed and then transferred from the ground into the saddle, resulting in advanced manoeuver abilities without causing frustration or aggression to the horse’s mind or body.
April 30th 12:00 – 12:55 PM, DNR Lecture Room
Innovative Foundation Guiding Methodology Exercises
Russ will explain his foundation guiding methodology in his exercises that he uses to direct and guide his horses through the walk, trot and lope. Ten innovative exercises are explained in detail using power point presentation, video and printed material. Russ’ foundation guiding methodology exercises demonstrate proper timing, repetition and relaxation reaching specific goals in each exercise. His methodology ensures the rider does not damage the horses mind, muscles, joints and other body parts.
4:00 – 4:55 PM, Ag Star Arena
Innovative Methodology to Communicate the Back-Up
Russ will share his innovative step by step methodology that he has developed to communicate to his horse for a straight and effective back-up that begin from the ground and then transferred under saddle. These methods aid in building coordination and balance and help to educate the horse to use his body equally. This will aid in developing softness in the left and right sides of the horses’ body, shoulders and the hindquarters. Russ will explain and demonstrate the importance of controlling the shoulders and the hindquarters and how to execute and navigate a straight back-up.
