Intermediate Riding Clinic ┃ Developing Muscle Memory & Flexibility in the Horse Body to Improve Performance

This clinic is designed for the intermediate Western rider that understands body control of the horse. This is not a clinic for the beginner rider or beginner horse.
Developing muscle memory and flexibility in the Horse Body is extremely important to improve the horses overall performance in various activities. A flexible and supple horse will also demonstrate ultimate understanding and willing responses and excel in their performances. This Riding Education is designed for participants and spectators interested in Western performance events.
Participants will receive:
- Step- by-Step individual instruction from Russ Krachun working directly with each participant and their horse
- Explanations and step-by-step exercises how to develop muscle memory & flexibility in the horse body and how mental and physical abilities affect the horse performance
- Individual guided practice sessions of how to apply flexibility exercises at a standstill and in forward motion
Goals:
- Participants will have full understanding of how to apply exercises and methods; in order to continue to work with participant horses after the clinic
- To improve the horse mental and physical abilities so the horse will respond to aids willingly, be flexible and supple and ultimately improve your performance riding
Benefits of Flexibility in the Horse Body:

Participant Information:
- Participants involved in the western discipline over 18 years of age
- Participants should be confident under saddle at walk, trot and lope
- Participants should have minimum knowledge of how to communicate with the horse to move the neck, shoulders, rib cage and hindquarters
- Participants will be required to sign liability waivers, and photography/videography waivers
Equipment Required:
- Saddle & pad, Bridle, bit, chin strap, reins and leg protection for horse
- Helmets and proper riding footwear with heel is required for each participant
Participant Horse Information:
- A horse that can travel without resistance, fear or frustration, can safely walk, trot and lope under saddle
- The horse should have minimum education of how to move neck, shoulders, rib cage and hindquarters
- A horse that is safe among people and other horses
- An up to date vaccination report is required for each horse
Recommended Optional Overnight stalls:
Overnight Stalls are recommended, as horses require time to become familiar with their new environment and become relaxed and ready to perform. Participants are also asked to warm up horses in arena a half hour prior to the clinic start time.
- Stall rentals are available for your horse for the fee of $15.00 plus HST per day
- Stall rentals includes hay, water, shavings
- Horse owner is responsible for the clean-out

Outcome
All learning and education is at the level of the receiver. It is important to know that it takes time to develop coordination and muscle skills, and it is also very important to practice and work with your horse regularly in order for you to succeed.
